| Residents are selected after careful consideration. Typically the Resident is currently in Treatment and communication between the Treatment Facility and AYC are crucial. In contacting the potential resident's current clinical counselor we are able to evaluate the appropriateness of the individual for our facility. Through consultation a decision will be made to proceed with a phone interview with the potential resident. It is important that we do our best to make sure that we are healthy equivalent for the residents recovery needs.
Parents are well-versed in the communication between AYC and the Current Treatment Facility. Parents are invited to visit the facility prior to admission or call at anytime to request information or an improved description. Following the phone interview and admission is acceptable admission arrangements are prepared.
Requirements for Admission:
- Male Residents only ages 14-21
- Recent completion of Inpatient Treatment
- Be motivated to continue a life of abstinence
- Proof of recent physical and medical history (records from inpatient treatment)
- Social Security card or number
- Copy of birth certificate
- Pictured ID
- Records of Immunizations
- Signed Payment Agreement with first payment
- Personal spending money for residents approximately $200.00 Check made out to "Client Accounts"
Residents will need the following items:
- Appropriate Clothing (it gets cold here)
- Phone card
- Personal bathroom items
- A reasonable attitude about being at AYC "I don't really want to be here, but I need to"
Any of these items can be funded through client account money and purchased locally under staff supervision
Residents will not need the following items:
- Clothing that promotes drinking or drug use
- Large stereo equipment (headphones are permitted)
- Computers
- Credit cards or cash cards
- Cash
- Cell phones or pagers
- Posters or pictures that promote drinking or drug use
- Weapons
- Pets
